The past couple of days have been a little bit hectic, but I think that’s to be expected when university is drawing nearer and nearer over the horizon.
So, on Friday, I met with my buddy Ruth before she goes back to uni in Wales. I think this is probably the worst part about becoming an adult – all of your friends end up moving halfway across the country or, in some cases, across the world.

We went to a little bar/restaurant in a town between our houses. It was dog-friendly, so it meant that she could finally meet my dog, Marley (he is the bestest of dogs).
Then, yesterday, Sam and I went to Brighton. It was absolutely boiling – at least, for England – and I’m the worst in the heat. I think it’s because I’m very fair-haired, so I just burn and overheat. It’s great, honestly.

So, to combat my grumpiness, Sam bought me a two-scoop cone of ice cream – one scoop of mint chocolate-chip and one scoop of strawberries and cream. I’d go as far as to say it was one of the best ice creams I’d had in a long time.
We then went and got donuts from the pier. They were really hot and we were both very greedy. Suffice to say, our fingers got burnt a lot. Again, it was definitely worth it.
Our last little trip was to the American diner on the beach front. It’s amazing inside – I’m a bit gutted that I didn’t take any photos of it – and the food portions were massive.

We had a really nice day, as we always do in Brighton. It’s always such a nice atmosphere there, and I love how unique all the shops are in the lanes.
I feel like it’s only best if I finish the post on the picture of our new child, Desmond.
